Family Day Ice Fishing –  Kids Can Catch

Join the Okotoks and District Fish and Game Association (ODFGA) for Family Day Ice Fishing at Kids Can Catch at Chain Lakes Reservoir. This all-ages event is open to the public to come out and try their hand at ice fishing. Bring your own fishing rods if you have one! We have some you can borrow. Out on the reservoir, you will find pre-drilled holes, fishing mentors, and more!

Important Information

• Follow signage, stop by white canvas tent for registation, refreshments, and gear
• Bring your own fishing rod (if you have one)
• Fishing rods will be available to borrow
• Fishing mentors on hand to help new anglers
• Information available on fishing and conservation
• Bring a lawn chair, food, drinks, and dress warmly
• Free hot chocolate, coffee, and $1 hot dogs (cash only) available while supplies last
• Giveaways for youth
• Wheelchair, stroller, and wagon access is not guaranteed due to snow cover on the ice
• Outhouses are available in the park

Fishing Licenses are not required on Alberta’s Family Fishing Weekend. Alberta Sportfishing Regulations still apply.
