DESCRIPTION:What happens when a call goes to Fish & Wildlife regarding a conflict with a grizzly bear? \n\n\n\nThis presentation will cover the response procedures\, outlining all the steps taken when dealing with bear / human conflict. Paul Frame will discuss the Grizzly Bear Responder Program and Mike Ewald will outline the process for investigating and responding to a bear mauling. \n\n\n\nLocation: Cardel Theatre: 180 Quarry Park Blvd\, Calgary \n\n\n\nTime: 7:00 – 8:30pm \n\n\n\nDate: April 7\, 2026 \n\n\n\nSocial: Original Joe’s: 1009-163 Quarry Park Blvd. Following the presentation from 8:30 – 11:00pm. Right across the street from the Cardel Theatre. \n\n\n\n Presenters: Mike Ewald started his career with Fish and Wildlife in Canmore in the summer of 1989.  He became a Regional Problem Wildlife Specialist in 2013\, and then the Provincial Problem Wildlife Specialist in 2021. He has worked primarily in high problem wildlife areas of the province\, providing him experience in a vast number of different scenarios dealing with human/wildlife conflict. This includes responding to attacks on humans.  Mike has been married for 38 years\, has 5 adult children\, and 12 grandchildren.  \n\n\n\nPaul Frame: \n\n\n\nPaul Frame has been studying and managing large carnivores for 25 years. He as worked with wolves\, bears and cougars in various jurisdictions in North America. He as been the Provincial Carnivore Specialist for Alberta since 2014.

DESCRIPTION:Our next Okotoks and District Fish and Game Association club meeting is scheduled for Wednesday May 7. It will be held at the Crystal Shores Beach House\, 403 Milligan Drive in Okotoks. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7:00 p.m.. \n\n\n\nHunting draw application time is just around the corner. So\, we’ll be talking about some tips and hints to preparing to put in your draw applications. We’ll also be talking about your hunting experiences in WMU 212\, land access and so on. We have updates on the upcoming banquet\, changes to the fishing and hunting regulations for 2025\, as well as discussion on other upcoming club events and activities.  \n\n\n\nWe hope you can make it to the meeting. And\, as always\, if you have friends who are interested\, bring them along too. \n\n\n\nLooking forward to seeing you there.

DESCRIPTION:ODFGA Members and Welcomed Guests \n\n\n\nOkotoks Rifle and Pistol Club has extended an open invitation to Okotoks and District Fish and Game Association members and welcomes guests to come on out and enjoy their indoor rifle and pistol gun range in Okotoks\, AB. \n\n\n\nLocation: Okotoks Rifle & Pistol Club \n\n\n\nTo book a reservation for a lane: All bookings will be submitted directly through ORPC’s Website. Pre-registration is required to sign up. All questions that you may have will be answered from a ORPC member when you book a reservation for a lane. Email link: orpcbookings@gmail.com \n\n\n\nRegistration Cost: There is only a one-time initial cost for youth to shoot at the range. Individuals are required to buy a $10.00 Yearly Junior Membership. Any dependent children under 18. This allows junior members to shoot all year long if they choose to continue shooting. Kid’s range days are the first Saturday of each month. \n\n\n\nA couple of highlights… supplied items. Note: Rimfire/Air Rifle firearms only. \n\n\n\n\nLoaner .22Lr firearms\n\n\n\nAmmunition donated by the Calgary Shooting Center\n\n\n\nParents are allowed to bring their own firearms and ammunition\n\n\n\nWe have loaner ear and eye protection\, as it’s is required while on the range.\n\n\n\nFun\, interactive and paper targets will be supplied\n\n\n\n4 rifle/multi-purpose lanes\, 4 handgun lanes.
