On-Call Cougar Hunt Auction — Supports the Nanton School Enhancement Project
Members,
Are you interested in a memorable, local cougar hunt—and in supporting the Nanton School Enhancement Project? A premium On-Call Cat Hunt with Mean Creek Outfitters has been donated for telephone auction Saturday, November 1. These hunts typically book at a high price; this is a rare chance to secure the experience at a potentially reasonable auction price.
Key Details (from the outfitter)
- Hunt style: On-call cougar hunt (“cat hunt”) with Mean Creek Outfitters using seasoned hounds.
- Where/when: You must be flexible to travel west of Nanton when a good snowfall accumulates or a guide locates a fresh track.
- Method & objective: Once a track is found, dogs are released in pursuit of a mature mountain lion, giving you the best chance to harvest a mature animal.
- Physical demands: Expect the possibility of many miles of hiking in deep snow and tough terrain. Please be in decent physical condition.
- Eligibility: The purchaser must be an Alberta resident and hold a valid PAL.
- Season window: Valid December 2025 – March 2026.
- Value: $15,000.
