We're happy to announce the two winners of the 50/50 raffle were Mary F. out of Spruce Grove and Darlene D. in Lethbridge. Congratulations!
With 529 tickets sold, the grand prize was $2,116 and the consolation prize was $529, leaving $2,645 for ODFGA programs.
We'd like to thank our members who sold 50/50 tickets and our supporters who bought tickets. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and made this a successful fundraiser!
The draw was made on Sept 2, 2022 at ¼ Mile Carwash with 3 ODFGA members in attendance. The winning tickets were drawn by a non-member who had not purchased a ticket, per AGLC rules.
Thanks to everyone that came out on Feb 16, 2022 for our annual horn scoring event at HubTown. We had a great turnout with lots of new and old members in attendance and at least a dozen sets to antlers and horns to be scored.
The largest set of antlers for the night was an archery elk that netted over 330 inches and will be a strong contender for the 2021 provincial awards.
We had a number of door prizes that went out in a random draw. Don't worry if you weren't there till the end, we'll make sure your prize makes it to you.
A special thanks goes out to the organizers and volunteers for the evening. We had 4 people scoring full time and lots of runners to help tally points and keep people and antlers moving smoothly.
We'll see you again next year!
After a successful season last year, Darren and his wife graciously cleaned out and fixed up the birdboxes from 2019 to get them ready for the 2020 nesting season.
These birdboxes were built by ODFGA volunteers and Darren was great about setting some up west of Okotoks.

After extending the draw due to COVID impacts, the winner of the 2020 ODFGA 50/50 raffle was drawn on July 10th.
The winner of the $1420 prize pool is ticket #82 Daniel out of Rimbey!
Thanks everyone for supporting our great cause and to our fundraisers in selling those tickets! Our share of the 50/50 proceeds will be put towards high quality local club projects.
Have a great summer!
On 2020-02-13 we hosted our annual horn scoring night at Hubtown Brewing in Okotoks. We had 3 AFGA certified scorers (Mark Anderson, Jim Clarke from Sarcee F&G and Joe Baranyay from Calgary F&G). Things started off quite busy right at 6 pm, but slowed later in the evening.
We scored a total of 7 heads, with a mix of white tailed deer, mule deer and elk. There were a couple of really nice elk in the 280+ range, and one mule deer over 185 which scored high enough to get into the next Alberta record book.
We had lots of volunteers and members who stopped by to check it out and support it. We had quite a few people not involved with the horn scoring take interest in what we had going on, so I think it was a good PR thing with non-hunters. (Especially when we shared a stick of the elk pepperoni.)
Thanks to all the members who showed up to help out and support the event. Thanks especially to the scorers, who did a great job.
